Terms

Last updated 13 September 2026

Built by Vir is Vir Patel, working as a sole proprietor in New Jersey, USA. These terms cover use of this website and the general shape of a project. Anything specific to your job — scope, price, dates — is whatever we agree in writing, and that agreement wins wherever it differs from this page.

This website

The pages here are informational. I keep them accurate but make no promise that everything is current or error-free, and the site is provided as-is.

Prices and quotes

The prices listed are the standard rates for the work described. They are not a binding offer on their own — a job with unusual scope gets quoted separately. The price you agree in writing before work starts is the price you pay.

Payment

Half the agreed fee is due before I start, the balance when the site goes live. Work pauses if an invoice goes unpaid, and the site stays offline until the balance clears.

What's included after launch

Three months of content changes are included with every build — text, photographs, hours, prices and similar edits. New pages, new features and redesigns are separate work and get quoted separately.

After the included period you can move to a monthly plan, or pay hourly for changes as you need them. Current rates are on the home page.

Defects

If something I built is broken — a form that doesn't send, a link that doesn't work, a layout that fails on a common device — I fix it free for 90 days from launch. That's separate from changes you want, which are billable.

Things outside what I built aren't covered: an expired domain, edits made by someone else, or a third-party service changing or shutting down. I'll always tell you which of the two you're looking at before any work is billed.

Ownership

On final payment, the site and its content are yours. Your domain is registered in your name on your own account from the start, and it stays that way whether or not we keep working together. I keep no hold over your domain, your hosting or your files.

You are responsible for the content you give me — text, photographs, logos — and for having the right to use it. I may show finished work as a portfolio example unless you ask me not to.

Cancelling

You can stop a project at any time. The deposit covers work already done and isn't refundable, but nothing further is owed and you'll get whatever has been built to that point.

Liability

I'm one person building small websites, and my liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me for the project it relates to. I'm not liable for indirect losses such as lost business or lost profits.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
